Dr. Milena Armani was born and raised In Brazil and earned her medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo, the largest University in Brazil and one of the most prestigious higher education and research institutions in Latin America. She has lived in the United States for over a decade and is fluent in English and Portuguese. She completed her residency training in general psychiatry at the University of Kansas and finished her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Emory University, where she served as a chief resident. Dr. Armani is board certified in psychiatry.
Dr. Armani's clinical work focuses on the treatment of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), mood disorders and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Armani is a Parent Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT) and dedicates part of her time helping parents and their young children with challenging behaviors strengthen their relationships through this evidence-based therapy. In addition, she has developed a special interest in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy), an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers.
